File Attachments
Attach reference files, deliverables, and screenshots directly to a task instead of linking out to a shared drive. Every attachment lives in the Task Detail sheet, right next to the work it belongs to.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Max file size | 25 MB per file |
| Max attachments | 10 per task |
| Allowed types | PDF, PNG, JPEG, GIF, SVG, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), ZIP, MP4 |
Files outside this allow-list are rejected before upload starts, with an inline error explaining why.
Uploading a File
Open the task and find Attachments
The Attachments section is in the Task Detail sheet, with a drop zone and an Upload button.
Drag a file onto the drop zone, or click to browse
Both methods trigger the same upload — pick whichever is convenient.
Wait for the upload to finish
The drop zone shows "Uploading…" while the file transfers. Once done, it appears in the attachment list with its size and uploader.
Downloading and Deleting
- Every attachment row shows a Download button that opens the file directly.
- Only the person who uploaded a file can delete it — the delete button only appears for your own uploads.
- There is no recovery for a deleted attachment. Download a copy first if you need to keep it elsewhere.
Reaching 10 attachments on a task disables further uploads until you delete one. There is currently no way to raise this limit per task.
FAQ
Can I attach a file to a project instead of a task?
Not currently. Attachments are scoped to individual tasks. Project-level file sharing with clients is on the roadmap but not yet available — see the Client Portal docs for what clients can see today.
Why was my upload rejected?
Either the file type isn't on the allow-list, the file is over 25 MB, or the task already has 10 attachments. The inline error message tells you which.
Can a Manager or Admin delete someone else's attachment?
Not through the current attachment UI — deletion is limited to the original uploader. If you need an attachment removed on someone else's behalf, ask them to delete it or contact support.
Are attachments included when I export project data?
No. Data export (Settings → Data & Privacy) covers structured records, not uploaded files.
